Why ArtWorks?
In the performing arts, organizations such as theater, ballet and opera companies provide artists with both opportunities to work with other performers, and a support group of administrative and technical staff.
That’s what ArtWorks Foundation and our events seek to do for the community of artists engaged in
3-D media, such as glass, metal, wood, clay & fiber. ArtWorks Foundation’s mission is helping these artists grow, in their business and their work, through programs including exhibitions and education initiatives: such as, scholarships for advanced study workshops at schools for Fine-Craft.
We are also aiming at establishing an endowment to fund Emergency Relief Grants to help area artists resume careers derailed by disasters or catastrophic illness. Longer term, we’d also like to build a Center for Fine-Craft, with studio and exhibition spaces.
ArtWorks Foundation is a proud member of Tennesseans For The Arts
& Tennessee Craft
We also work with The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi, The Memphis Potter's Guild, The Wood Turners of North Texas, and other arts organizations in the Southeast
ArtWorks Foundation events include our new festival, Art Worth October, 2024, in Fort Worth Texas; plus, our fabulous Holiday Artists' Market, WinterArts, from the Friday night after Thanksgiving to Chirstmas Eve. In the Spring, we stage our annual Art in The Loop, festival, in April, on Ridgeway Loop Road, in Memphis TN; plus, we'll also be staging other festivals and gallery presentations: stay tuned !

Since 1972, Twenty Nine people have been selected to receive Honorary Membership in Tennessee Craft (formerly The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists).
Honorary Membership is awarded to
individuals who have
"made important contributions to the development of craft in the State of Tennessee.
Honorary Members, nominated by the board and elected by the general membership, shall have all of the privileges of membership in good standing for life.”
ArtWorks Foundation's Executive Director,
Greg Belz, was chosen to receive
this great honor in 2020.
Greg is only one of four Memphians to ever receive this award, joining the company of the eminent potter, Mimi Dann; jewelry artist & professor at The Memphis College of Art, Mahaffey White; and three time president of Tennessee Craft & metal sculptor,
Pat Moody.
ArtWorks Foundation grew out of a Holiday Artists’ Market, called WinterArts, first staged in 2009. While this month-long presentation of work in a gallery setting remains ArtWorks Foundation’s largest undertaking, ArtWorks Foundation has also staged a number of two and three day art-fairs under trademarked titles including: Art Paired, Art Squared, art2wear, The Great Exposition, and Art in The Loop. While WinterArts showcases top regional talent, ArtWorks Foundation’s other shows invite artists from around the nation: regional artists are, however, given preference
when possible.
ArtWorks Foundation focuses the bulk of its efforts on creating events to serve artists engaged in 3-D media, such as: glass, metal, clay, wood, fiber, etc. While some of our two and three day shows may include the work of painters & photographers, our chief interest lies in work created by 3-D artists; as well as, in educating the public about the skill and talent required to create the work presented, and inspiring artists to continue to seek out educational opportunities to further their knowledge of technique and process to strive for ever finer work.
Help us offer opportunities to Artists to expand their audience and their ability to support themselves through their work. We invite you to make a donation: whether to honor or memorialize someone, or just to lend support; your contributions to ArtWorks Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and deeply appreciated by the artists we seek to serve.
You may direct gifts of over $200 to be used for specific programs, such as our scholarship fund, emergency relief endowment, or exhibition and building programs.
